The Airslide Diverter Gate is an industrial device installed along airslide conveying lines to control the flow path of fluidized powder materials either directing material forward along the horizontal airslide path, or blocking that path and discharging the material downward. The unit consists of a cylindrical housing with a flanged inlet for connection to the airslide line, an internal rotating flap blade to determine the flow direction, an electric actuator to drive the movement, and a top inspection door for service access.
Operation is based on the rotation of the internal flap blade around a central axis: upon command from the electric actuator and PLC control system, the blade is positioned in one of two states in the first, the flow path remains open along the airslide line, allowing material to continue to its next destination; in the second, the path is blocked and material is diverted downward through the bottom discharge opening (e.g., to a conveyor, feeder, or downstream silo). Due to its ability to switch flow paths automatically and precisely without stopping the line, this type of gate is widely used in the cement, steel, and mineral processing industries for material distribution within airslide conveying systems.
